I posted the other day that Dave McGowan had recently added another entry to his Lincoln assassination research. I started thinking that it might be a good idea to explain my archive of his work. So here it goes.
I've been reading Dave McGowan for several years now. In addition to his website, I've also read three of his books, Understanding the F-Word, Derailing Democracy, and Programmed to Kill. I also intend to read his latest book about Laurel Canyon, Weird Scenes Inside The Canyon, fairly soon.
McGowan's been writing stuff on his website for the past several years, and although the content of his newsletters is excellent, the website is...not so much.
Many years, to no avail, I longed for him to start a blog so I could easily follow the rss feed (you probably get by now that I like Really Simple Syndication). It just didn't happen. Then one day I decided to start archiving all of his newsletters to pdf files. I created a webpage with links to all these pdfs on one of my old WordPress blogs, but I was never truly happy with an archive of pdfs, I really wanted the advantages of a blog format, with links, rss feeds and so forth.
When I created this website, I finally started posting individual blog posts for each of McGowan's newsletters. At first, it was very slow going. I tried to created a front page a lot like his own website, with links to all the newsletters that would take you to each post. Never satisfied with the results, I ended up creating a page of just a few main subjects, breaking them down into more digestible sections (i.e. newsletters from 2002).
The sections are pretty much in order of his writing, with the latest newsletters at the top of the page; at the time of this writing that would be the Lincoln Assassination.
These main subjects are:
Well it's been a long endeavor, but I've finally finished archiving all his past newsletters. Now, at the risk of receiving a cease and desist letter from his lawyer one day, I'm just keeping up with new stuff McGowan occasionally posts.
You can read Dave McGowan's archived newsletters here. Enjoy!
