Convicted rapist Brock Turner 'creeped out' other women at Stanford prior to 2015 sexual assault6/10/2016
Convicted sex offender Brock Turner “creeped out” other women at Stanford parties, including his rape victim’s sister, before he sexually assaulted an unconscious woman behind a frat house dumpster, shocking new court documents reveal. According to statements from women who encountered the former Stanford swimmer before the sexual assault, Turner was “aggressive” and “touchy” towards them and made uninvited advances at frat parties. On the weekend of Jan. 10, 2015—a week before the sexual asault— Turner made unwelcome passes on a woman at a Kappa Alpha party who was on Stanford's campus visiting a friend, according to statements included in a 470-page document release from the Santa Clara County courts. At one point during the night, Turner joined the woman and her friend while they were “dancing on a table” and started grabbing her from behind and groping her upper thighs. The woman told investigators in a June 2015 interview that “she felt uncomfortable and tried to turn her body away so that he would not be directly ‘behind’ her," and that Turner “creeped her out because of his persistence." The night of the Jan. 17, 2015 rape, Turner also preyed on the younger sister of the rape victim at the frat party they attended together while the victim's sister was visiting home from out of town, according to the sentencing documents. The victim’s younger sister told prosecutors that Turner attempted to kiss her while she talked to another boy outside of the frat house, advances that she thought were “odd because they had not talked much and there was no flirtation.” Later on in the night, Turner tried a second time to steal a kiss from the victim’s sister and grabbed her.“This time, he put his hands on her waist and she had to move away from him,” court documents read. The victim’s sister left the party shortly after the encounter with Turner in order to escort a drunk friend home. Read Stanford Rape Victim's Statement to Brock TurnerWhen she returned, she stumbled on the police investigation into her sister’s rape. In the victim’s emotional statement—which has gone viral since its release—the victim mentions Turner’s aggression towards her sister at the party. “He (Turner) admitted to kissing other girls at that party, one of whom was my own sister who pushed him away. He admitted to wanting to hook up with someone. I was the wounded antelope of the herd, completely alone and vulnerable,” the victim read aloud to the judge. Police also found evidence on Turner’s phone that stand in contrast with his assertion to investigators that he didn't drink or party. Cops found texts that reference “excessive drinking and using drugs” and photos of him smoking out of a pipe. The morning after the rape, police also discovered a group text sent to Turner that read “Who’s t--s are those?” but police were unable to find the original text or any photos related to the message.
New details about Turner’s case come just after Judge Aaron Persky sentenced the Dayton, Ohio native to a mere six months behind bars for his crimes due to “the severe impact” a harsher sentence could have on him. The light sentence has sparked outrage and calls for Persky to be removed from his job as a Santa Clara County judge. Turner could be released as early as Sept 2., if he has a clean disciplinary record while in jail. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/brock-turner-creeped-women-prior-2015-rape-article-1.2669094 Comments are closed.
